20 Things To Do & See In and Around Hantsport

  1. Admire some Victorian architecture and learn about Hantsport’s shipbuilding heritage. See some of the folk art of Frances De Silva and hear the legends of “Ondine” and “Elaine".
  2. Stay awhile and watch both the high and low tide.
  3. Walk on the ocean floor. (You’ll get muddy!)
  4. Buy fresh, local produce. (Or pick your own)
  5. Railway buff? The Windsor & Hantsport Railway houses a Provincial Heritage Property on Foundry Road.
  6. Spend a few hours horseback riding. (Murphy’s Stables 684-0908)
  7. Bird watch-eagles, herons, and, of course, seagulls.
  8. Check out Avonport Lighthouse- Please, don’t get too near the edge of the bank!
  9. Hunt for fossils on the ebb tide (684-9541 to arrange a tour) Doing it on your own? Respect the tides: finish your beachcombing no later than 3 hours before high tide and beware of falling rocks and dirt.
  10. Burn off some steam and hit a few tennis balls, or play a little one on one.
  11. Make it an “arts’ day-visit our local galleries.
  12. Take the kids to the playground.
  13. Shop for antiques.
  14. Have tea in Victorian splendor daily except Monday 2pm-4pm at Churchill House- Coffee served mornings 10am-12pm.
  15. Take a guided walking tour of Hantsport-799-1110 to book.
  16. Picnic at Fundy park.
  17. Watch the fastest loading gypsum facility in the world. Call 684-9302 for docking schedule.
  18. Visit Blue Beach Fossil Museum.
  19. See the Cairn of naval hero William Hall.
  20. Have your picture taken with the Caleb Burgess carving, corner of Oak and Prince.
